Sharjah Football Club—“The King”—returned to winning ways with a well-deserved 2–0 home victory over Al Dhafra, in the opening match of Round 6 of the ADNOC Pro League, held at Sharjah Stadium.
The home side displayed composure and attacking intent throughout the match, with Igor Coronado opening the scoring in the 45th minute from a perfectly executed free kick, before Rey Manaj doubled the lead just 73 seconds later with a sharp finish inside the box.
The King took full advantage of Al Dhafra’s red card, increasing the tempo and controlling possession to create several scoring chances. Coronado’s goal marked his third direct free-kick strike in his last seven ADNOC Pro League goals, confirming once again his reputation as a set-piece specialist.
Manaj nearly added a third early in the second half with a powerful effort that was brilliantly saved by goalkeeper Amjad Al-Sayed and deflected off the post. Despite Al Dhafra’s attempts to respond, Sharjah’s defense remained solid and organized, while the hosts continued to threaten through quick transitions and fluid attacking play.
With this result, The King raised its tally to 7 points, climbing the league table and regaining momentum ahead of the upcoming fixtures.
Sharjah’s players and staff praised the fans’ passionate support, emphasizing that the victory was another step toward restoring consistency and competing strongly in all domestic and continental challenges.
