In the presence of His Excellency Khalid Issa Al Midfa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sharjah Sports Club and Chairman of Sharjah Football Company, the training grounds at the Samnan and Al Hazana facilities witnessed a large turnout of aspiring players wishing to join the ranks of the “King” in its various youth teams. The club organized its first open day for scouting young players for the 2024-2025 sports season, targeting Emirati citizens and the children of Emirati mothers.
Over 311 children born between 2010 and 2015 participated in the trials held over Saturday and Sunday, with 250 children attending on the first day and the number increasing to 311 on the second day. These trials were overseen by the club’s technical director, Mr. Kirillos Pampis, along with coaches from Ajax Amsterdam’s Academy, the technical partner of Sharjah Club Academy, who designed a specialized program for the trials. Additionally, coach Hassan Ismail, the club’s goalkeeper coaches supervisor, designed and implemented a testing program specifically for young goalkeepers.
Hassan Ahmed Al Hammadi, a member of Sharjah Football Company and supervisor of the youth teams, expressed his gratitude for the presence of the Chairman, noting that it reflects the club management’s commitment and interest in the future of the “King” through investing in young players. He praised the initiative launched by the club since the 2021 season, which has successfully led players from these trials to join Sharjah Club teams and, subsequently, the national youth teams.
